Uruk Pikemen storming the blasted Deeping Wall in the second film
The Uruk Pikemen are heavily specialised anti-cavlary unit. They appear in both BFME 1 and BFME 2.

Pikemen are extremely good at one task while being extremely bad at others. They are a grave danger to any form of cavlary, especially if they tighten up their ranks in their defensive formation. This effectivness however comes at a price. They are weak at both killing units other than cavlary and destroying buildings.
However, this weakness can be countered with one of these unit combinations:
- Pikemen & Warriors - The pikemen take up the first rank on the front and sides, protecting the unit from three directions. Inside the formation, the warriors fill the available space. This combination is especially effective when always present protection of melee units is needed.
- Pikemen & Crossbowmen - The pikemen take up the first rank on the front and sides, protecting the unit from three directions. Inside the formation, the crossbowmen fill the available space. This is one of the worst units a cavlary can charge on. First deadly projectiles are going to weaken upcoming horsemen, then the pikes will finish the job as soon as the attackers make physical contact.
