They are elite Gondor infrantry. Equipped in the best arms and armor, Tower Guards form the last line of defense for the white tree and the royal house.
Battle for Middle Earth[]
Best infrantry unit in the game; if the Tower Guards cannot hold the line, no one can. They deal high damage, do bonus harm to cavlary, suffer no penalities when attacking structures and can form the strongest defensive formation in the game - which gives them (depending on the patch) between +40% to +70% armor.
To balance this insane strength out, they are moving slower than average infrantry (similarly to regular Soliders), are quite expensive and cost more command points than usual foot soliders. An army consisting of only or mostly Tower Guards is in most cases too few in numbers and too narrow specialised to achieve victory.
