The Good Campaign follows the war heroes Glorfindel and Gloin as they undergo the War in the North. The game opens just after the Fellowship has departed to Mordor, to destroy the One Ring.
Battle for Middle-Earth 2 Missions[]
Rivendell, High Pass, Ettenmoors, and Drogoth[]
The Elven hero Glorfindel has discovered an impending attack on the sanctuary Rivendell. He opts to warn Elrond, allowing for his early arrival. The combined Elven forces fend off the attacking Goblins, and, following the battle, Elrond decides an alliance of Dwarves and Elves must be forged.

Glorfindel and Gloin march onto Ettenmoors, the Goblin capital. Here, the Goblin fortress is destroyed, and Gorkil the Goblin King is killed.
The Good Campaign
After this great victory, the heroes are informed that the Goblins, on Sauron's command, enlisted the service of a Dragon named Drogoth the Dragon Lord, who is laying siege to the Dwarves of the Blue Mountains. The heroes make their way to the Blue Mountains and help the Dwarven army defeat Drogoth and his Goblins.
Gray Havens, Celduin River (Laketown), Esgaroth (Erebor), and Dol Guldur[]
The Elven port Gray Havens is under attack by the Corsairs of Umbar. The Dwarves decide to help with the defense of the port, and combat the Corsairs. The attackers are eventually annihilated, and the Evil forces are rid from Eriador.
Soon the threat of Sauron's forces becomes very real, as the Dwarven City of Erebor falls under siege as does the human settlement of Laketown on the Celduin River. King Dain leads a small force to defend against The Mouth of Sauron's hordes in Laketown, but is forced to flee to the gates of the mountain of Erebor. After a long battle against the Mouth of Sauron's army, Elven Reinforcements from Mirkwood led by the Elven king Thranduil arrive and save the Dwarves, defeating the Mouth of Sauron and his army.
The Dwarves
Elrond has chosen to lead the first attack, but is soon followed by all of the Elven-Dwarven alliance to Dol Guldur, for the final battle of the Good Campaign. The Good forces are aided by Ents and Eagles; forming a massive alliance. Good forces and its three combined armies overcome the defenses and destroy the fortress, eliminating the last threat in the North.
